Amigour Public Housing Facilities
Securing the future of Israel’s high-Risk Population
A donation of US$6000 enables one homeless family to live in one of Amigour’s public housing facilities for one year.
Rena is a single mother with 3 children. Working 9 hours a day as a supermarket cashier, she barely brings home enough money to feed her children and pay the rent. Her children were ashamed to bring their friends home to the run-down two-room apartment in which they lived.
Pavlov is a lone immigrant soldier who yearned for his parents to come to Israel. When both of them passed away within the space of one year, Pavlov found himself completely alone in Israel, unable to afford to put a roof over his head.
Ilan came to Israel in his late 60’s. With sparse financial means, no understanding of the language and no job opportunities, he was faced with the pressing need to find a home for himself. With the money given to him by the National Insurance Institute he could barely find a room in a downtrodden neighborhood.
The live of Rina, Pavlov an Ilan have all been changed by the Amigour Housing Management Company. With the absence of low-rent housing in Israel, Amigour is Israel’s leading operator of public and sheltered housing facilities, providing vulnerable populations with affordable housing solutions. Amigour currently operates approximately 22.000 rental apartments of 70.000 tenants – new immigrants, veteran Israelis, single parents, young couples and elderly – in 23 locations throughout Israel, plus an additional 8,000 rental units that are owned by the Israel government.
